SAFETY GLAZING REGULATIONS

If you have not had any replacement glazing recently then it is important to access the risk of harm likely to occur should glass in the critical locations be damaged. A common sense approach should be adopted for instance there is a greater risk in a creche or a school than in an office, and a very low risk in a greenhouse. Higher risk areas may need to exceed the minimum requirements in the critical locations.

It is difficult to ascertain whether glass in situ is annealed, toughened or laminated. Clark Glass offers to carry out a detailed Risk Assessment of your premises identifying  the relevant glass, determining which needs upgrading, providing an estimated cost and agreeing a planned implementation programme to complete the work.

Evidence of a planned implementation programme, in so far as is reasonably practicable, will be a true reflection of the spirit behind the Regulation and how the Health and Safety Executive intends it to be interpreted.

We can enhance your existing glazing to meet BS6206 by the application of a non-abrasive safety film which will satisfy Regulation 14.

This is a complex and somewhat surprising piece of legislation. Do not listen to the scaremongers, telephone our help line for sensible advice and practical solutions which will guarantee peace of mind and the right glass in the right place.
